HDPE electrofusion equal tee is used to split a HDPE pipe into two outlets at right angles to the end of the original pipe, or to add in an outlet branch to a HDPE Pipe. Electrofusion equal tees are made with an equal size pipe diameter on all three ends.

On the inside, the electrofusion tee fittings house electrical resistors connected to the outside cable terminals. When current moves through them, these resistors generate the heat needed to melt polyethylene. Energy is transmitted directly and exclusively to the surface where pipe and fitting come into contact with each other, producing heat welding.

The HDPE electrofusion tee has implanted metal coils placed around two ends of outlets, and the other branch outlet are spigot type, suitable for electrofusion coupler

Made by 100% PE100 material, SUNPLAST HDPE tee electrofusion can can be supplied in a diameter sizing from dn32~dn400mm in SDR11-PN16. SDR 11 electrofusion elbow 90 degree are rated to PN16 for water and PN10 for gas.

The electrofusion tee fittings are injection molded in one time, and conform to ISO4427-3,EN12201-3, AS/NZS 4129, EN1555, EN ISO15494 standard (ISO4437-3 for gas)

* How long will an electrofustion joint last?

A: If the pipe has been prepared in accordance with guidelines and the jointing process has been carried out correctly, by a competent installer, the HDPE electrofusion fitting is expected to last as long as the lifetime of the pipe system and a minimum of 50 years.

* Are 3 outlets in HDPE electrofusion tee fittings available with electrofusion welding?

A: No, SUNPLAST HDPE electrofusion tee fittings are available to make a electrofusion welding for two main outlets only. The other branch outlet has no copper coil implanted, so it can’t be electrofusion welded.

So the installer shall consider to add to use a electrofusion coupler fittings for the branch outlet of E/F tee fittings

* How to stock the electrofusion fittings? Can they be stocked outdoor?

A: Fittings are packed in a protective plastic covering and should remain packed until ready for use. This plastic covering can be used to handle the fitting during installation in order to prevent contamination.

Fittings are to be stored in a warehouse in which the temperature should not exceed 50℃

Never store fittings in direct sunlight. SUNPLAST Black EF fittings contain a carbon black additive in order to protect from UV effects, however, unsuitable storage can adversely affect the fitting performance.
